PROPOSAL TO:

BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE INTERNATIONAL THEOSOPHY CONFERENCES, INC.

FOR A MAGAZINE TO ENHANCE AWARENESS OF OUR PROGRAMS.

We have been contacted on a number of occasions with written materials about Theosophy and particularly conference related materials.   We have also felt a need to provide vehicles for the three Committees which were initiated during the ULT Centennial.  For these and other reasons we are proposing and requesting for Board authorization to begin this endeavor.  The magazine would begin with the following format:

1. A quarterly on line publication with the possibility of either an annual or bi annual hard cover or magazine edition.
2. In addition to featured articles, it would have three departments reflecting our three committees including Health, Young Theosophists, and Technology.
3. The Committee chairpersons will edit materials associated with their departments.
4. In that we are a group reflecting Theosophical unity, we would republish and review some of the best writing from all Theosophical publications.
5. A clear editorial policy will be written from the ideas coming from the Board of Directors.
6. An Editorial Advisory Group will be established composed of Board members.

We do require a vote to authorize starting the above program.  It should be mentioned, if the proposal is approved,  that Helena Karekhazi, and Miluka Matlovsky, and James Colbert (Committee Chairpersons) have all agreed to oversee and provide materials for the three departments listed above.  Sally Colbert, if the proposal is approved, has agreed to start as the editor (she will need to do most of the initial work regarding materials and appropriate software).  There will be no start up costs associated with this proposal.  After several publications, a budget can be better determined.
