Purposes of ITC

↑ Go to top of page

International Theosophy Conferences Inc. is a platform where Theosophical organizations and all other earnest students of Theosophy meet. This infers that ITC won’t typically function as another Theosophical vehicle, in spreading Theosophy itself. Instead ITC is committed to connect all Theosophists, supporting them in their common cause in the light of the purposes of ITC, which are:

  1. To maintain the principles of the Modern Theosophical Movement presented by H. P. B. as a living power in the minds and hearts of Humanity, encouraging explorations in the light of her teachings.
  2. To foster mutual meaningful intercommunication, understanding and respect among the Theosophical mainstreams, stimulating thereby continuous spiritual Unity.
  3. To be a platform, supporting and sponsoring the annual international Conference of Theosophical Organizations.
  4. To unite people in sharing the Philosophy of Theosophy, studying and further exploring Religion, Philosophy and Science from a Theosophical Perspective.

News on theme and objective of ITC 2016

Venue ITC 2016: La Casa De Maria, Santa Barbara

This forthcoming conference will certainly be as energetic and inspiring as the previous ones. ITC offers Theosophists a platform where in the true spirit of brotherhood and by having open minds they can share, collaborate, and exchange ideas, which help giving Theosophy its rightful place in the world.

In the past months the ITC's directors have concentrated on deciding on the theme for the conference which will be held in Santa Barbara, from Thursday, August 11, until Sunday, August 14, 2016 at La Casa de Maria, one of the most inspiring retreat centers in all of California.

The title that was chosen for the 2016 conference is:

Theosophy and Social Responsibility
Applying the Head and Heart Teachings of H. P. Blavatsky

Conference Objectives

Based on this theme and suggestions made during the membership meeting in August 2015, the three objectives for the conference were formulated as follows:

  1. To study The Secret Doctrine together, enhancing the understanding of the teachings as laid out in all of H. P. B's works, directly correlated to social responsibility, while also identifying other Theosophical authors who have contributed in a valuable way.
  2. To further intensify working together, practicing cross-pollination thus promoting true fellowship among Theosophists.
  3. To develop and present useful tools, so that the knowledge offered to us can be rolled out in a practical manner benefiting all of humanity.

Participants will be given the opportunity to prepare for the joint study. The board will provide a set of reading materials that will be sent to them several weeks before the start of the conference.

Program and keynotes

Martin Leiderman

In the coming period the definite program will be finalized but one keynote speaker for the opening on Thursday, August 11 is already known. His name is Martin Leiderman. He is a resident of Los Angeles, a long time student of Theosophy and a well-known national and international lecturer. Together with his wife Susan, Martin holds weekly study sessions at his home.
